Sources

There are two main groups of sources for our present knowledge of Gnosticism:

• The Gnostic scriptures themselves, especially those contained in the Nag Hammadi Library

• The works of the so-called “heresiologists,” ancient proto-orthodox Christians who wrote against the Gnostics.
